Hypothesis Validation

CONTEXT
In a schedule planning tool, the accuracy of the data is crucial for effective decision-making, ranging from planned hours and weekly calculations to managing absences and days off. The primary challenge in developing this product was to design an effective structure for managing the substantial volume of information, while maintaining optimal usability.
UI Design
The layout's saturation prevented the Design team from integrating new data in a coherent manner.
Touchscreen Devices
The use of touchscreen devices, such as tablets, has introduced a new layer of complexity.
Inevitable moment
It is inevitable that the time will come when the design will no longer be able to accommodate more data.

The challenge
We had identified the problem, but we were uncertain how to address it or which solution to implement. We have devised a number of options, but each one would require a significant development effort.

I made the decision to validate a hypothesis with a code prototype to ensure real interaction that a design prototype could not guarantee.
Rapid development
Invest as little effort as possible to start collecting data early.
Strategic Client
Selection of a strategic client with whom to conduct testing.
Scalability
We chose the solution that would be most scalable in the future.

THE SOLUTION
Interactive panel
We can open and close it to view secondary information.
Prioritization of information
An exercise was carried out to categorize which data is displayed at the first level and which in the panel.
Scalable solution
In the future, solutions such as tabs within the panel could be offered to better organize data. Or customization could be offered to decide which data to place inside and outside the panel.

Results & Impact
Not only for the user, who now has a cleaner view, but also for the design team in the future.
Although the reception was positive, if it had been negative, it would not have been a significant cost.
